Surrey Decluttering recognises the importance of keeping our existing and potential client’s data and personal information safe and secure.  This privacy policy has been produced to provide our clients with information regarding the type of information we collect, how we process it and how we ensure it is stored safely and securely.

Surrey Decluttering will never share or sell information about you to any third parties without your prior consent, or unless we are required to do so by law.

Victoria Fearnley is the owner of Surrey Decluttering and is a sole trader.  Victoria is solely responsible for keeping our client information safe and secure.

The types of personal information Surrey Decluttering collects 

Surrey Decluttering may collect and process the following client and prospective client information.   

  • Names – first name, surname, title, marital status
  • Addresses – home, billing or business addresses
  • Telephone numbers – home, business and mobile numbers
  • Email Addresses – home or business email addresses
  • Social media and online digital addresses that you wish to share
  • Marketing information – this may include the reasons for enquiring/requiring the services of Surrey Decluttering, preferences for receiving marketing communications and communication preferences

We only collect the minimum amount of information required in order to be able to make appointments with you, visit you in your home or meet with you online for a virtual appointment.

Photos

We do not collect any Sensitive Data about you. Sensitive data refers to data that includes details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, information about your health and genetic and biometric data. We do not collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.

We require all third parties to whom we transfer your data to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We only allow such third parties to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions

 

How Surrey Decluttering store your personal information 

Surrey Decluttering store client information securely on electronic devices such as an Iphone and/or laptop.  Such devices are password protected and have added protection from software manufacturers Microsoft Office and Apple.

In addition, Surrey Decluttering has anti-virus software McAfee. 

Should any suspected data breach occur, Surrey Decluttering have procedures in place to deal with this and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach if we are legally required to.

 

Data Retention

GDPR requires that personal data is held only for a reasonable amount of time.  Surrey Decluttering will therefore only retain personal data for 2 years after our last communication.

For tax purposes, the law requires us to keep basic information about our customers for up to a maximum of 7 years after you cease being our customer.

We will then dispose of your information securely.

Under data protection law, the client has rights including:

Your right of access – You have the right to ask Surrey Decluttering for copies of your personal information. 

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask Surrey Decluttering to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask Surrey Decluttering to complete information you think is incomplete.

Changes to this Privacy Policy may be made periodically.  This may be due to changes in the law or if Surrey Decluttering change their business in a way that affects personal data protection.
